Good morning, it's a fine start here. Yesterday was a lovely day, dh spent most of the day outside tidying the garden.
I went to the shops, didn't need much though.
Nothing much going on today, but it's early yet, we might decide to go somewhere.
Glad you're feeling a bit better Ruby.
Hope you're enjoying your time away TA.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning folks, thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. Whilst it's rather dull here it's already 13°. I was so hot again overnight though this is not a complaint.Yesterday I put a white load in the machine and was so pleased to get it out on the line in the bright sunshine. I drove into town to the pharmacy as I needed a cream for behind my ears. The pharmacist was really helpful and even better was that the cream was available from the Pharmacy First scheme so from £12.00 it was free. A win and a result.Going up to see my friend was really lovely. On the way I detoured to the wee cafe to pick up two delicious cakes. 😀 Then home for double Who. Great day!
There's no real plans for today. I need to pack a wee case for my two days down south but it's easy to transfer the basics from my backpack and then add in a set of more formal clothes. Perhaps I'll sit in the garden for a bit. I have enough fodder so no shopping is needed.Sending hugs to our poorlies and nearly betters. I hope that everyone has some sunshine.10 -
Thanks for the start Scarlet
Gers - interesting about the Pharmacy First scheme, though obviously here in England we’d still have to pay the prescription charge 🙄
Yesterday was busy, boot sale (very busy but only a few purchases), power washing (very messy!), chopping wood for craft projects (very much less messy doing it outside!), lots of other outside jobs resulting in a sunburnt neck (whoops), BBQ chicken and veggie skewers(yum). I was however mortified to remember at 9pm that I’d forgotten to give B-dog his dinner - wondered why he had a rumbly tum - gave him a snack to see him through the night, I think he’s forgiven me!Today might be similarly busy - lawn needs mowing before the forecast thunderstorms, and the wood needs sanding and finishing so I can do some painting and decoration in the week. Dinner to sort (cod and creamy leeks) and lunch to sort for work tomorrow.Enjoy any sunshine that remains today before it disappears

Morning all. What a lovely sunny day.
Yesterday was equally lovely and spent dancing in London, including in Trafalgar Square, for a Morris Day of Dance. My body has just about recovered
Today I have things to do in preparation for our trip to Jersey and will attempt to make some gf ginger biscuits for one of my travelling companions.
Have a great day and I'll be back in about a week.10 -
Morning all.

@AA - there's a list of what items the pharmacist can prescribe, usually the generic stuff. It helps to keep the GPs from being swamped with what could be trivial complaints. And they always advise going to the GP if things don't clear up.@WL - what a day, and in the heat too!
I hope that you enjoy Jersey, have a good time.
@Florence - I don't know what the SA would do without you. Or those you care for. It's still cloudy but warm too, with the promise of rain later in the afternoon so I've gathered up some items to wash and will get them out on the line. I've also put together a bag of clothes for the CS. And ordered a new pair of Hotters (discount code in the paper yesterday) and new roasting tin. So much for not spending.9 -
Gers - I was 16 years at another Church but felt called to worship at SA.

Morning all, a nice start to the day but rain etc. due later this afternoon I think. We have the day to ourselves today so not sure if we'll go out or stay in the garden.WL enjoy your trip to Jersey.Florence, cooking for so many sounds a hot job in this weather.I have a chicken to cook later. It would be simple to have with salad but no doubt DH will want spuds
AA the kebabs sound nice - I wish I'd got some from the butchers yesterday!
Well have a nice day everyone, I'm off to look around the garden x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning allWell the jet washing was a success yesterday except I think I got more muck on me than got swept away after everything dried!WL say hello to Jersey for me and enjoy your trip. Not been there for many years, must go back. Lovely place especially St Brelade's Bay.Been out in the garden for half an hour doing a bit more weed clearing, little and often is the motto I go by! Also got DH to move a couple of rose bushes that needed a bit more space to spread out.Chinese curry and rice for dinner then a bit of footie on the TV later.Take care all x7

Hello all, it's started to become overcast here, nooo leave the sun alone please ! I did everything yesterday that needed to be done but in the evening I had a problem with my leg, it didn't want to work and I was dragging it. This morning my leg hurts when I walk so maybe I've pulled my thigh muscle, perhaps it was doing the bit of mowing.
Today I have a pair of cotton trousers to take up (about 3ins) and my honeysuckle is waving around so needs tying in too but the latter maybe a step too far today. There's a pork loin joint to cook later so we'll have that with roasties and veg.
WL enjoy your Jersey trip.
Have a good day, hope the thunder showers miss everyone by.
