BT share cert confusion..

Hi all, i think i have this sorted but just checking !
(A) I have a shareholding in BT group represented by 1 x cert with a date of 21/11/2021
(B) I also have 3 x share certs with dates prior to this which are for British telecommunications and show the piper symbol These certs just show the BT logo and the piper symbol.
Im pretty certain that A was issued to replace and invalidate B and that it had something to do with demerger possibly of mmO2 which was then spun off as a separate business eventually becoming O2?
Im just looking to have these vested in my on line account and ditch the paper. Maybe even ditch the shares before they become worthless !
Thanks all

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Are you sure the first one you mention is dated 2021? The O2 disposal was in 2001.C_Mababejive said:Hi all, i think i have this sorted but just checking !

The valid one will be the (A) BT Group 5p Ord certificate. Its named changed on the mmO2 demerger. 21/11/2001* would fit with BT Group's listing date of 19/11/2001.C_Mababejive said:Hi all, i think i have this sorted but just checking !

You can sense check this by checking the value of the dividends you've been receiving per share vs the number of shares on (A) and comparing it to what's been declared.
*I'm assuming you made a typo.
