Bathroom Basin +Mixer Tap considerations.

Current Basin has 2 single taps Is it Simple to. order a Single Mixer tap.
I'll check measurements today though it's going to be small sized basin maybe 500mm's
Is there any reason not to order slightly larger from. 600mm's.

As far as size goes then you can fit pretty much whatever size you want. Things to consider are whether it'll fit into the available space, will it make opening the door/shower door difficult (depending on the size and layout of the room), will it fit on the existing pedestal if you're going to keep that in place. But in principle you can fit whatever size you want. For the taps, you need to match the basin to the taps. By which I mean, make sure you buy a basin that has one hole or two holes as applicable, depending on whether you want separate hot and cold taps, or a single mixer tap. But if you want to install a new mixer tap, the plumbing itself is not at all difficult, you just need to make sure it'll suit the configuration of the basin.1

thanks mser's
Potential new chosen Dimension's (W)600
yet I've estimated my smaller basin as (W) 433 approx.
Current space should be fine, only concern is does Plumber have bathroom tiles cutting skills.
This seems to be Single Hole I'll check once Mixer tap is chosen.

Especially if you're paying him to fit the new sink, you'll need to get a quote from him for "the job" as a whole, including re-tiling if that's what you're wanting done.Tiling is not actually a plumber's job, though in practice many of them are very adept at it, as a project such as this (bathroom work) gives them plenty of practice, and it's a common thing to be doing. If he doesn't do tiling himself then he'll almost certainly have a tiler that he uses. Whether he does it or gets someone else in shouldn't actually worry you either way, he should be giving you a total price that includes the tiling work (and everything else).

Is your heating system gravity or mains pressure?
If former, going to a mixer tap with it's usually 8mm Flexi connection will reduce the flow quite a bit, even with a 'low pressure' tap
That's my experience anyway2 -
Mains pressure which is fine for Basin, maybe too low Hot for bath, though I'll prob discuss with Plumber.
I choose then take advice which products are useful.
I think larger 600mm Sinks could be unnecessary hassle as tiled wall.
Is the 8mm flexi connection something I could view online.
I think 4xxmm's Basin choices are going to be limited.

When we had our bathroom updated, the guy said he was a qualified plumber and had been gassafe registered. However he preferred the variety of bathroom work. Tiling, painting, some simple electrical work etc .
However his previous work partner apparently hated all that stuff, and was much happier installing new boilers etc .

Re The 'flexis' . I may not have size exactly right but they are pretty much standard issue with most mixer taps and usually come with the tap

Though I plan soon to book someone. To ‘Fill the gaps’ created by other tradesman jobs and condition of home walls and sometimes off sized replacements of my choice.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge.
