Patient Access

Options
I am trying to delete old attempt codes from my authenticater app,so I can set up 2 facctor authorisation for my  Patient Access account.  I have been trying for two days and am getting seiously bogged down by it.  So my question is how do I delete old codes so I can start again, again?

I used to be happy with Patient Access, but now I too am having to give up on its ludicrous ‘security’ features. Having to download another (unspecified) 3rd party ‘authenticator’ app to use PA?  Really? i have numerous financial apps that dont need this complexity. I can log into PA with apple ‘Facial Recognition’ , but as soon as I want to do anything interesting it ask for a 6 digit number from my ‘authenticator’ app ?? At one time I think I was able to get to this somewhere in my iPhone ‘Settings’, but cant find it now. Posted a query to PA support, but got back several pages of convoluted gobbledy gook.  Trust Pilot gives this app an average review rating of 1.1 from thousands of reviews (its impossible to go less than 1.0 !) . Reviews are consistently scathing, hard to find one that gives more than 1 star. The NHS app is OK and fairly solid, but lacks a bit of elegance (I used to like the ‘graphs’ of past test results). There does not seem to be any other alternative to PA. Is there any way to ‘opt out’ of 2FA security? i cant see why anybody would want to try really hard to hack into my uninteresting medical records!  I can see some logic in having the ‘security’ code developed and secured by a dedicated ‘expert’ organisation, but calling out to this should be managed by the host app and transparent to the end user.

I abandoned Patient Access when they introduced the third party authenticator. I use the NHS app via the website which works well though a few things are not there - and it seems the surgery have not set it up to order my repeat prescriptions, they recommend doing that via a separate form on their own website. Patient Access has now jokingly called 'Patient Inacess'.

When prompted to use the authenticator app, I just select 'Remind me next time' and it by-passes it.

I gave up with Patient Access ages ago because of issues with the authentication process.

I just use the NHS app which does everything I need including repeat prescriptions and messages.

I gave up with PA because it doesn't allow me to make any appointments, send any messages or do anything. Apparently the surgery can elect to disable all those functionalities. Mind-bogglingly stupid.

I use Google Authenticator with Patient access.  Just as easy as opening an email or SMS and more secure.  Shame more companies aren't using it.
