Scam Inheritance letter from Hong Kong

anotherquestion

Hi folks,
Like most people I have got many Scam telephone calls in the past, but was a bit unnerved and surprised today to actually receive an inheritance Scam letter from Hong Kong, the usual kind of scam where a relative with the same surname has died leaving nine million.
Obviously its going straight into the bin, but they have my name and address all correct, anyone else got one of these?
Thanks.

To be honest, it's not that difficult for someone to get hold of your name and address, especially if you're listed on the "open" version of the Electoral Register.Must admit though, I'm surprised they'd go to the expense of sending a letter - that's got to cost a heck of a lot more than just sending out millions of blanket emails.2

Maybe as more people are getting wise to the email scam, they are having to resort to letters in the hope it looks more ‘official’2

Thanks for replies,
It is quite a well put together Scam letter in my opinion. Seems it might even have been posted in UK (maybe they got a deal with sending out a whole batch with Royal Mail)
Letter with any of my details blanked out in post.

I would be looking at a way to report/complain about this to royal mail because yes it looks like bulk sending through them0

UK Mail can't be contacted about this, no menu options, however I have been told by Royal Mail customer service to report it online, which I have done.1

Thanks, yet another cog in the wheel of this fraudulent activity, you would think by now that the authorities would have caught up with them, but it seems not since they have taken the scamming activity to the next level by mass direct mailing.1
