No management accounts available to seller of flat

I have a problem as trying to sell a flat as the freeholder is absolutely refusing to issue management accounts for the buyer. They said they needed 20 days but it is now over 40. We are in danger of losing the buyer. How can we force the freeholder to hand over this information.

What date were the last set of accounts that you have compiled?

Who is the Freeholder?0

the flat is leasehold. The freeholder owns the freehold and has not produced any management accounts since he brought the freehold a few years ago. He simply will not produce anything and we are in danger of losing the sale. All maintenance monies are paid to him on a monthly basis and are fully up to date.0

Afraid there is not much you can do that is likely to help in respect of the timescales needed to facilitate the current sale.
Going forward you probably need to try and enforce your rights (see link below) so you have accounts avaiable that a future buyer might acceptable. If the freeholder does not comply with those rights I would guess you need to apply to a Tribunal (which would likely take many months) to enforce (maybe consider a solicitors letter first). A solicitor may also be able to advise whether you have the right to withold service charge payments if the freeholder is not complying with those obligations (if so could work quicker than a tribunal).
