CCJ set aside cst law

Options
New here wonder if anyone can help
In January 2024 I had a notification that my credit score had changed this was on my halifax bank account
I was absolutely horrified to see that early January 2024 a CCJ had appeared
It was from a property I had owned and sold in 2020
I had informed united utilities I had moved out
I (stupidly) thought the water bill must all be up to date and nothing to pay
Looking back I should have made sure account was closed but it was covid and I had elderly relatives to look after Id lost my business and had a move too
Not excuses but an explanation
They must not have received that notification and it looks like the new owner left the bill in my name until they eventually caught up with them nearly a year later
A lot of searching about CST Law sent me the bill dated a year later after I had sold
I sent them my solicitors letters of completion payments and HM land registry details of new owner etc
many phone calls and hours have been spent on this I have asked them to set aside
Nothing at all
My credit score is 530 now and its affecting my insurance
I cant afford to throw more money at it involving solicitors or court
Any advice please
Many thanks

So you have discovered a ccj from United Utilities? Correct?

Their solicitor was CST Law? Is that correct?

You believe you would have had a full defence to theirclaim if it had been sent to you.

You need to apply for set aside. The fee is £275. If he court agrees, the case will be rolled back to claim stage and you can put in your defence

I understand that you want UU to voluntarily remove it without furter cost to you but that is not how the system works. It is explained here
