scratches in karndean

Hi, I have just had karndean laid in my hall/kitchen and it looks absolutely beautiful. However, its only been down for a week and already there are about ten scratches showing on it which I am gutted about as its supposed to be virtually scratch free. There are also a few rubber type marks as if someone has slid in their trainers, but we have banned shoes from it so I cant understand how these marks have appeared. Does anyone know how to remove these marks or had anything similar happen to their flooring. It is the Van Gogh design and cost us £1600 and I am now worried that Ive made a big mistake choosing this floor. Any suggestions please.....

Yes, a Karndean rep came out and inspected it and agreed to replace it. I told them I didn't want the same floor in case it happened again so went for the Limestone collection tiles. At that time I was gutted as I loved the Van Gogh in my hallway. Now I am happy with the new floor and there are no marks and looks great. Any little marks just wash off.

I would contact your dealer if the marks dont wash off - there's obviously a problem with certain designs. Good luck...
  • Hi -I see the original thread on this subject was 2005 but having just spent £3400 on Karndean Renoir Atlantic Slate and Art Select Summer Oak I was really disappointed to see that the wooden legged chairs we have used over Christmas have left some pretty bad scratches in the Atlantic slate. Karndean tell me I should consider using their product called 'Refresh' which will help the scratches become less visible. (They go if I wet them) Does anyone have experience of this product? Also I can't help but feel that floors that have such a good reputation and guarantees should not scratch so easily but then the chairs did not have protectors. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks
