That is the danger with glass tops, they magnify the sun.

While off topic, how about a nice bit of wood underneath the glass as a feature, instead ?

Yes, a decorative piece of wood or stretched fabric would look nice under the glass.

OP, grab that refund if it's still available.  The size of the table as part of a set makes it a decent offer, and the care instructions suggest that if they wanted to fight it, Aldi wouldn't have to pay anything at all.

Hi! We have had the exact same issue with ours - I am currently in talks with the customer services who have also offered us 20% refund.

Did you accept? Or is it worth trying for a bit more of a refund?

    Thanks!

Looking back at my emails, I accepted the £130 (we are offering you a refund of 20% (or £129.99) of the purchase price) and received it via PayPal.

Since my posts above, all of the seats have suffered the same fate as the table, and it's no longer usable — albeit it is still technically under warranty.

    Thanks for the speedy response.

Oh sorry to hear that’ Our sofa has also started to go as well as the table. Very disappointing. Our warranty runs out next month so I feel like I’ve left it too last minute to try argue my case.

Hello, we’re having the same problem - don’t suppose you have the product code of the set please? The warranty company will not help us without this - my proof of purchase email isn’t enough. Thank you in advance.
