Housing benefits

Options
I currently am unemployed and get UC and housing benefits. I have started talking to my partner about moving in together with her school age child but would need to be bigger while still being close to the school. Do you think enquiring about moving in to a different place would bounce me off the benefits as she has a job?

Possibly depends on her income/circs, maybe wait until you're both in employment

You would need to make a joint claim and her income would be taken into account.

You could put all the information into a benefit calculator such as

There would be no change until you actually do move in together.
UC is not interested at all in what might happen in future, only about what happens when it does actually happen.
