sainsbury to mint balance transfer question, help please!

So had balance on Sainsbury card was paying interest. So decide to transfer to MINT as interest free.

Requested this & next day did as was advised & paid my sainsbury card so as not to be hit with late charge. paid them £100. Then had a refund in Game of substantial amount due to faulty item. They had no replacement so had no choice but for refund.

Transfer went through, but at original reqested amount, not taking into account the refund or payment.

So now in credit with sainsburys.

Very Nice DH says I will pay off your credit card. So he does. So I also close that card down.

I now call to close down Sainsburys card.

The man has no idea if I can have a cheque or if money will go back to source. A closed card. The man did admit he was quite new to the job, but that it was something to do with the FSA.

I said that although I could see where he was coming from, in that it was MINTs money, the BT went through at lightening speed & the refund & payment was my money & not mints (are you following, dear reader!)

So if the money goes back to MINT, how do I get it back? IT'S MY MONEY!

Will MINT send me a cheque?

If I'd known the BT was going to go through so quickly, 4 DAYS! then I wouldn't have made the payment of £100. The refund still would have been a problem though.

I didn't think getting my money back from Sainsburys would have been a prob hence closing the MINT card.

Would the FSA say the money should come to me as it was a refund & payment?

thank you!

Lisa
