Good morning, it's an early start from me, I've been awake for hours. I've had a run of bad nights lately.
It's dry, I think the forecast is good.
I'm meeting a friend at Do*bies this morning, I'll probably fall asleep on the bus going there.
Ruby, sorry to hear you've got Covid, it sounds bad. I've had it twice but was never really ill with it, just a headache and a cold.
Hope everyone else is ok, take care folks.

Morning All
Dry but dull this morning, I hope it's to brighten up later as there's a load of washing in the WM nearly ready to go out.
Sorry you're poorly Ruby, wonder if Covid will ever go away. Get well soon.
Fingers crossed for a better night tonight Scarlet, enjoy your trip out.
Did you phone about the fox Coxy?
Hope the little ones are better soon Snoozer.
Work wasn't too bad yesterday although I thought it was Monday and used the wrong lunch menu until someone pointed it out!
I've a card to deliver on my way to work so need to leave a little earlier this morning.
I potted on some tomatoes yesterday, will need to see if I can give some away, I can't bear to throw them out now they've grown. Of course the peas have germinated too so there will be a glut of them!
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Like you I have been awake since silly o'clock. I have been sleeping very slightly better recently but I woke from an upsetting dream in the early hours and couldn't get back to sleep again. It's silly as even though I knew it had been a dream it still got me all strung up!
Yesterday was beautiful with unexpected sunshine all afternoon. They had forecast warm but overcast. I alternated between sitting doing some reading and potting on some dahlias I got at the w/e so yet more pots out back to water! It's going to look lovely when everything blooms. (Not so the front but we won't talk about that!!)
It's bus trip day and another lovely day is forecast. Such a change from all the wet bus rides we have had recently. We might even manage to sit outside for our lunch unless the coach tours are out in force and the passengers have commandeered all the tables.
Have a good day folks if you can and (HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. RUBY I hope you are feeling a bit better today. When I had Covid last year DS's DP had it at the same time and she was as bad as you, really ill for a good few days, shivering, aches and pains etc. I got off lightly by comparison but I suppose that's thanks to all the boosters offered to us old fogeys! It must have lessened the symptoms. Take care all and stay safe xx

Another one here that’s not sleeping very well - really ought to use the time wisely ……
Weather has been lovely and 🤫 weekend is looking 🌞
Thankfully the van passed the MoT so all is well!
I’ve decided it’s day trip day as it’s the only free weekday I have for 3 weeks - just going to a local English Heritage place for a mooch and a walk. There might be ice cream!Take care all

Morning all. It's dull outside here too though there's some warmth too.Yesterday's exam was English, in two parts. I only had one chap with a reader and scribe. She was excellent but the young man was really struggling. He finished an hour early. Meanwhile in the big hall there were about 70 students and four invigilators. After I was done I went up to Oban to collect the two orders which arrived a day early, that means that I have today to be footloose. Apart from expecting a delivery I have no plans.@Ruby - I'm so sorry that you feel so rotten with Covid and hope it passes soon.@TA - have a lovely day out, Skipton again?
@Camelot - no news about your job yet? They're dragging it out a bit. Have they done the consultation process?
@Chrisca - did you get some lavender yesterday?
@SO - how's your garden looking now?
@Allie - your walk in the woods sounds lovely.@Izzy - I had tried nail strengthening products for ages until resorting to the BIAB stuff. I'm hoping that after a couple more months I can stop it and find good strong nails underneath. Perhaps the old weak stuff has grown out.@WL - you came to mind the other day when there was a chap in a TV quiz who was a Morris dancer and gave a short demo. Unfortunately he didn't win.
@Taff - your garden efforts are huge! Cutting a rebar sounds dangerous too. 😱 hope you survived.@Nan - yes, putting away winter clothes is hardly worth it now.@Snoozer - poor Esther, I hope she's on the mend today. It's a miserable time for her.I've taken off the winter duvet and changed from winter pjs to summer ones. Maybe I'm tempting fate but really hope not. It's been raining here almost every day since September. The road which was closed by the huge landslide back in October still hasn't been re-opened, we're still going through the diversion under convoy.I hope that everyone is doing well.12 -
Hi everyone,
Hopefully everyone is on the mend today, the family are booked to go to Centre Parcs this weekend so they need to be well. They're going to the newest one which is only about half an hour from here - we could go for a day if we wanted but I think we'll pass.
Today I am driving to Lichfield to collect something, en route I will drop Steve off at Chris and Crystal's to mow their lawn while they are away and then pick him up on the way home. I was going to go with him to do a bit of weeding but then Lichfield came up.
I hope everyone is ok and that you are getting better Ruby.11 -

Morning all. It's amazingly misty here this morning but doubt it's a heat haze!
We've had our central heating switched off for a few days now and it's still a bit chilly in the mornings but hopefully not for much longer. I'll reduce the direct debit payments in a few days and that will make me feel warmer!
Yesterdays refugee group turned out to be a drop in slot in a church so there were toddlers zooming around on scooters, people playing table tennis etc. Quite a few of the ladies joined in with the dancing and seemed to enjoy themselves so it was all good. Today I'm off to help at the Larder so will see what veg comes in before doing a bit of shopping later.
Hope everyone's day goes well.10 -
Good morning all
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
@Gers the garden is still a work in progress, Very little was done last year, just cut the lawn.
My DH was on end of life care for several months and I was his sole carer.
@Ruby hope you're feeling better today
@TravellingAbuela enjoy your day
@Taff I wish I had your energy.
@Izzy I was once told if you eat a square of jelly every day it helps strengthen your nails, I think it must be the gelatin, no idea if it works.
Forecast for today is good although it's dull at the moment.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday was lovely here and today is forecast to be the same - fingers crossed. Little one arrived early yesterday morning, on DD's way to work and I took her into town to a dietician's appointment to be weighed and measured. Then we went for a hot chocolate before getting the bus down - I dropped her at school and went to nursery - where we spent all afternoon outside it was so nice.
I'm not at work today - I'll go down to mam and dads this morning and then down to DDs to do some more weeding before it's time to get little one from school. Her garden is looking lovely - lots of flowers are coming out, mostly I have no idea what they are but they're pretty!
Annoyingly, I have woken up with a migraine. I've taken a tablet so I'm hoping it works quickly as it's too nice a day to have a sore head.
Redruby - I hope you feel better soon.
Snoozer - hope little Esther is feeling better too.
SO - my mam says that about jelly too x
Right better get on, hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning! Not as sunny yet as yesterday but I'm sure I can find more stuff to do in the garden. We now have a water butt outside next to the porch, fingers crossed I did it correctly...might have to check it again after. I have purchases ot make today, and three different places to go, mostly to do with the cats but I need some stuff too. I may or may not pass some plants on the way. I acquired a couple of washing horses [you know, the metal concertina things] which I'm going to try and use for the pumpkins this year, I don't want them trailing all over the ground where we might [!] be building something. I may take apart a couple of metal tables I also acquired and either wire brush them, or get my drill out with the wire brush and use that. Lots of jobs to do...Ruby, hope you're feeling better...Gers, enjoy your footloose day! camelot, how do you hink you might jump if you get offered vr? Scarlet, don't miss your stop! Allie, enjoy the day out! TA, don't worry, when you don't look at the front garden, it ceases to exist and no one esle can see it either snoozer, nice delegating there! maybe also you could suggest that you take it in turns to make the granola if they like it so much SO, I don't have that much energy, what I have is a lot of stubborn and a brain that goes, well, if you just sort that bit out..then that bit...etc I used to like eating jelly squares when I was a kid, maybe I'll give it a go again. How are you doing with your group? Nanny, are you in Narnia still? Take care all! Fingers crossed it's not raining for you!Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...10
