    Hi,
    To update an old thread, my son has now been with the employer for more than 18 months and is very happy there.
    I know nothing is guaranteed, but he will hopefully be there for many years.
    Transferring the small pensions from elsewhere to the current employers pension could well be something to consider, as well as making some sort of additional contributions, as he has only been working for 10 years and possibly needs to make up for years of having no company pension.
    I will ask him to get some details from his employers pension provider.

    That is not an unusual situation. I did have some pensions starting earlier (which were worth having) but I didn't really start more purposeful pensions savings until I was about 40.
