AEG Favorite 4220 Dishwasher blocked

I think the pump on my AEG dishwasher may be blocked. Can anyone tell me where to find the pump and what to do with it when I find it please. It's an integrated machine. Don't really know what I'm looking for but would like to fix it myself as i could be waiting ages for DH to do it (not knocking DH he's really busy with work).
Would really appreciate your help.

I have a different model AEG dishwasher but it gets blocked sometimes where it connects to the U-bend under the sink also check the waste pipe for any kinks.0

Hi SWM,
I wouldn't recommend that one for the novice, it's not simple and the kitchen plinth needs to come off for a start. Then the machine released and brought forward. Access is the from underneath to the pump.
It's the old story, it's easy if you know what you're doing. Not so easy if you don't.
Remove the power from the machine totally if you have a bash as there are live components in there where you'd be working.

You could =
Dis-connect the waste from the dishwasher under the sink, disinfect the end of the hose, and BLOW as hard as you can. works sometimes.0 -
It seems to be a common problem with AEG Favorite. Your pump "impeller" is blocked by a piece of hard stuff that managed to find its way through the filter !!! Ours is the 7080 model and got blocked twice in the 12 years we've had it. First time with a stone from a date and second time from an overcooked piece of liver!
Tilt the machine to gain free access to the plinth, remove plinth. Pump is made of black plastic with 2 x pipes running into it (both pipes held on pump with very strong spring clips. I always find the removal of those clips the harder (you need very wide flat pliers). Once you have disconnected both pipes, remove the pump. You will find that pump is made of two halves "twist and lock". Un-twist and the soft blade impeller is right there. Remove debris, clean with fresh water, refit and make sure clips are back on nicely. You have just saved yourself £40.0
