Bank account closed, very scared

Does anyone know if I give my employer my new bank details on the 13th , and the bank close my account, will my wages still go in?0

You'd need to ask your payroll department what the cutoff date is for changes to be applied but if your employer tries to pay into an account that's been closed by the time of attempted payment, it will be bounced back to the employer.confusedandscared1996 said:Does anyone know if I give my employer my new bank details on the 13th , and the bank close my account, will my wages still go in?1 -
update -- No cifas marker! woooooooooooooooooooop. what should I do now? wait for national hunter? do all banks use that, are there any others I need to check?
also will my account hopefully stay open now?0 -
It's an encouraging sign but you're still none the wiser about why two different banks have closed accounts within the last week, so I wouldn't be too confident yet.confusedandscared1996 said:update -- No cifas marker! woooooooooooooooooooop. what should I do now? wait for national hunter? do all banks use that, are there any others I need to check?

@enthusiasticsaver suggested it may be worth viewing your credit files from the credit reference agencies or something like Clearscore instead. Have you been able to do that? If not, here is a good guide: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/check-free-credit-report/confusedandscared1996 said:update -- No cifas marker! woooooooooooooooooooop. what should I do now? wait for national hunter? do all banks use that, are there any others I need to check?

I checked my file using totallymoney and although I have a lot of debt there doesn't appear to be anyything on there apart from defaults.
after national hunter is there anything else I need to check?

How many defaults were there, and were there any from either HSBC or First Direct? I know you mentioned Old Debt with RBS in your original post, but wondering if there are multiple.confusedandscared1996 said:I checked my file using totallymoney and although I have a lot of debt there doesn't appear to be anyything on there apart from defaults.

You could try putting in a Data Subject Access Request to providers who closed your accounts, but this may not yield much information. If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

I took out 3 payday loans in the last month. Could this be the cause?

Did you have overdraft facilities on either of the accounts that were closed?confusedandscared1996 said:I took out 3 payday loans in the last month. Could this be the cause?1
