New boiler - Vaillant or Worcester?

Bit like cars now - too much to go wrong

I've had 5 boilers in the 3 houses I have had in the last 35 years - 2 Worcester and 3 valiant and i definitely rate the Worcester better30+ years working in banking1

Our 7 year old WB combi has run perfectly since instillation. With a drop in temp on the controls, reduced flow rate and the engineer lowering the power requirement at last service, it runs cheap as chips. Definitely worth the cost to us.1

my wb 34cdi going strong 7 years old, missed 2 years of service my mistake, just had BG out for a service he said its still like brand new inside, no issues at all heats the house up under a hour from freezing cold and runs the shower off it and in winter when the water is freezing cold its runs and pumps out the hot water like its summer,
not 1 bit of bother with it and highly recommended
as for ideal, my sis rented a house out and had a ideal fitted, lasted 3 years and had to be replaced i wouldnt touch 11 -

housebuyer143 said: Thanks, now I know reducing the power can be done it's the first thing I plan to do when it goes in 😁😁You will find that the boiler fires up initially at full power, and then automatically throttles back to maintain the flow temperature. Whilst you can reduce the maximum power to some extent, it won't save as much energy as you might think.A little graph to illustrate..% Relative modulation in green (left Y axis)kW of boiler output in red (right Y axis).Boiler was set to a max relative modulation of 25% (don't have a parameter to limit actual output). As you can see, modulation peaks at ~32% at startup, rumbles along at 25% for ~7 mins, before dropping down as the system comes up to temperature. It isn't until around midnight when the thermostat starts to call for less heat, up until then, the boiler has slowly been reducing power.Modern boilers are pretty smart - They will automatically throttle back power output to match the load and flow temperature.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

The boiler went in today and it's really nice. Pleased with the job. I hope it lasts 🤞1
