You may or may not be aware of this - I wasn't.
I swapped both my gas and electricity accounts to npower over the last few weeks. My electricity transfer went through OK, my GAS transfer hit a problem however. I live in a house which is only 6 years old. I didn't know this but newer housing developments do not use TRANSCO to carry their gas through their pipework. They use other independent companies such as IGT - which is mine. Because of this, the rate per KWH is higher than normal rates using TRANSCO pipes. I cancelled my transfer because of this so be aware that the rate you sign up for may not be the rate you finally get. To be fair to NPOWER it is not just them who have to follow these regulations. It's all companies. You may well be paying this higher rate without knowing it with your present supplier. The new rate for me was extortionate so I had to say thanks but no thanks. Take care people.

I had terrible hassle with npower a few years ago, on the doorstep selling caper,nearly came to fisticuffs with the barstewards.A wise man changes his mind, a fool never will.
