What would you do with £300K

Hi all,

Appreciate your input on this, I will have £300K to do something with shortly, im thinking to invest it all, (I have an emergency fund/mortgage-free) in a world tracker ETF, across a couple of brokerages. I am 33 so won't really need the money for another 10-15 years at the earliest.
If anyone has any other ideas i am open to them.

Thanks.

Hard to say without knowing anything about your objectives or circumstances. What would be good me for might be bad or not possible for you
In previous threads you say you reside in the middle east which makes it harder still
Just plucking something out of thin air your pension situation might need improving but as I say ...

So you've got a cash fund for occasional and unforeseen expenses.  And you have no mortgage.  What will you need the money for in 10 years time?
If you're currently in rental accommodation and will be wanting to buy your own home, then I'd suggest maxxing out Lifetime ISA and S&S ISA every year.  In the meanwhile, investing in funds sounds, as you say, sounds like a good idea.

Perhaps you could take half of it and spend 2 years having a once in the life time experience, tour south America on foot, learn to fly, take your mother on a round the world trip, set up a charity. You don't need the money, take pleasure from it and share it where it will do good.

I would look to get it into tax shelters as soon as possible, and would invest broadly as you've suggested, but that's me. If I were in my early 30s then I might be tempted to use some of it to invest in myself, such as starting a business. That would depend on my life situation at the time.

OP has started three threads the same over the last 4 years with ever increasing amounts to invest.

If they still live in the middle east this is an important piece of info.

Friends who have lived in middle east for 30 years and had no pension have a portfolio of rental properties in the UK as that worked for them.

Hi all, thanks very much for taking the time to reply and for your suggestions!

Sorry that I didn’t provide more information, I live and work in the UK now (as per my previous posts intentions I did buy a small property and paid that off over the past 4 years) I don’t see myself upgrading my property anytime soon as I don’t/won’t really need to.
I guess I’m a bit of a long-term planner, I’ll be saving/investing the money to maybe reduce my working hours around 50yrs old if that will be possible. But as someone suggested above I will try and strike a balance and enjoy what I can now in the short term also.

    Have a great evening all.
