Good morning again, I'm back.
Well, it's raining here, yesterday was lovely until the afternoon. By the time I walked down to visit a friend at about 7.30 it was cold.
Yesterday was ok, took our friend for appointment and shopping, then home. Dh had an appt for a hearing test later in the afternoon, and I just pottered.
Silver-Oldie, Hope you are feeling a bit better, thinking of you.
Hi Tea Party mum, nice to meet you.
Sorry to see that you didn't get to see the heart blokey Taff.
Today, I'm going to tidy the freezer, what a mess it's in. I'm trying to run it down a bit, but when I was in M&S food hall yesterday I bought some stuff and just rammed it in when I got home, so now it's in a terrible state.
I'm going to the butchers this morning, and while I'm out will drop off a jacket for dry cleaning, I keep forgetting to take it. Our cobblers takes dry cleaning so it's handy. There's another shop that takes it as well, but the lady who runs it is so rude and snappy I don't go there.
Hope everyone has a good day, whatever you're doing, take care folks.12 -
Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Scarlett
The weather here is much better than yesterday - the sun is shining
Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday.11 -
Morning, thanks for starting us off Scarlet. Rude shop owners / assistants are very strange beings, it's as if they don't want customers.Yesterday there were nearly 50 students for the two National 5 maths exams so we were in the sports hall. When they all trooped in I was surprised to see that a significant number were dressed in all black. Some things don't change. 😀 On the way home I picked up a sandwich as I hadn't prepped anything to go with my soup. Can do better!
I'd left some washing out on the line overnight and got home just as spots of rain started. Then it fell all afternoon, the type of fine rain which is almost invisible, even though the day was warm. Today looks to be the same. I don't have anything other than vague plans, I'm trying to not go shopping as I have plenty in the freezer, I've one last portion of soup left for today so will need to make some tomorrow. Perhaps that's when I go shopping. Recording my food spending last month brought me up short. Can do much better!Right, my day proper must start. I'll change the bed linen even if I can't hang it outside. Hugs to our poorlies and hello to newbies. All welcome and cherished.11 -
Thanks for the start Scarlet
I’ve just about recovered from vote counting yesterday. I have no interest in politics but the process is fascinating, it’s mentally exhausting though and one of the votes was a huge ballot form with 15 candidates on it so they were large pieces of paper, it’s amazing the origami some voters had managed to get it in the ballot box 😂; and having all the candidates ‘scrutinising’ every step too!
No firm plans, neighbour is dropping off a pile of wood for my crafts which will involve a reorganisation in the garage to store it but DF has started that yesterday. With any luck there’ll be more things to go to the tip too. Other than that it’s all weather dependent!Happy weekend to all

Morning All
It's overcast and dull here this morning, I think summer is over! Rain is due later so I'll keep the washing for another day.
Off for a pool swim this morning then to the allotment to put in some pea and bean supports. The chaps there are very helpful so I'm sure it will be done in no time.
Nothing much to report, I ran out of energy last night so did absolutely nothing! My cousin phoned (son of my elderly Aunt) and we shared some concerns about his Mum - the main one being that her freezer isn't very accessible for someone who isn't steady on their feet so he's going to look into that today. She mainly uses ready meals now that are kept in the freezer.
Sorry your appointment didn't go ahead taff.
I wouldn't know where to take dry cleaning now Scarlet.
Right, must get moving, hope everyone is well and you have a lovely bank holiday weekend. Take care. XX

Hi everyone,
My week has disappeared again. On Thursday we had Nate for the day and spent most of it out in the beautiful sunshine.
Yesterday I picked up my new glasses, I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with them but we'll see. I then took Esben to the Dr because we're not entirely sure he's got over the tonsillitis but the Dr was happy. I then spent the rest of the day helping him construct a Lego kit. He did really well with minimal help on a kit designed for over eights but it took a long time. I kept suggesting he might need a break (subtext, Nonna would like a break) but he wanted to carry on.
I had intended to make some granola and a couple of other things but that didn't happen.
The weather was awful yesterday, so cold again, it seems better today so I might get dressed and take Ziggypup out. Will try for the cooking as well.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning! The sun is shining! It might be dig up the sage day. Not a lot else though, have to get some diesel for tomorrow [ I'm going to the gardeners world spring fair at beaulieu with a friend] and I think a packed lunch will also be in order. It's going to have ot be the big boys bag tomorrow..And I think I might have to get an army and navy one again. This little one may hold a lot fo stuff, and have a lot of pockets, but it's too small and it's too grown up for me. I need to have something that is more practical. And wot I can stuff more in innit....:) Can't get a book in the current one or other useful things. I cooked a load of beans eysterday, don't know what I'm doing with them yet, maybe another sausage and bean chuck together if I get the tuscan sausage out of the freezer, it's so much easier to make a big pot of something and eat from that for me, with OHs shifts he just doesn't eat properly and deosn't believe in making any kind of effort to heat something up or whatever. And I refuse to become 1950's housewife hovering with a plate of food...There's a compromise somewhere...Anyway, take care all, enjoy nice weather if you have it, boo if you havem#t. Don't go too crazy with jobs this weekend, enjoy smelling the roses....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

Good morning all
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons.
Thank you for all your support, it really does mean a lot.
Looks like it's going to be a dry day so no excuse not to do a few jobs in the garden. It's looking terrible, weeds seem to have shot up with all the rain. Gardener couldn't come last week.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -

Morning all, raining here,I was cold yesterday too Snoozer. I ended up going to the retail park for a mooch, tried on some jeans in marks but put them back as even short seemed too long
I bought a belt instead to keep the ones that are a bit big from sliding south. Got some food bits. Had a good look round the big Regenerage shop( used to be called Age concern) Loads of books I could have bought but didn't want to carry the weight round, and ended up in As da. DH picked me up.
I made chicken shawarma with flatbreads for tea. DS1 had already eaten so he'll have his today.@taff shame you didnt see the doc, I keep wanting to call him 'hearty bloke' instead of the other way round. Our full fibre BB was connected with City Fibre who installed it round this town, then there were about 10 diff providers you could use, we plumped for Cuckoo as it got some of the best reviews on MSE. Very fast and no probs so far, & £50 cheaper than V!Going to watch DGS team play later this morning, even though he's still on hol.We enjoy the company of the various parents/grandparents.Family back late tomorrow, seems to have gone by quickly.
Thai curry deal from MnS for later.Enjoy your sunshine if you have it x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11
