Hi all
Finally got the keys to the house. Was told I am allowed to put Vinyl/lino/carpet but not Laminate? Anyone know why this would be?
I called up to clarify but no one was able to let me know. I was hoping to have laminate to avoid stains etc but not sure why id be allowed vinyl but not laminate. Vinyl is so expensive! Will go with carpet now as I have no choice but was curious to know

Carpet/Vinyl is easy rip up and dispose of, laminate requires a bit more work perhaps.2

There doesn't have to be a reason: Rules is rules.0

Laminate is noisy that's why. There are way more antisocial behaviour complaints relating to noise transference where there is laminate (usually flats but can be houses) whereas carpet absorbs the noise to a degree.1

It's be down to noise which would be unbearable to the flat below!
Even in a house it is a nuisance, we had neighbours in the semi next door who put laminate upstairs and that too was a proper noise nuisance when the wife clomped around upstairs with her heels on.2 -

I would have thought vinyl is less expensive than laminate? Shop around for prices.4

Thanks all. Might go for Vinyl sheets now with the wood effect. Just want something practical and easy to clean0

Go for vinyl. Better than laminate in my opinion as you can lay it as one piece per room rather than have joins. Easy to clean, warmer underfoot and you can get wood effects.3
