  • Hi  Does anyone know if money given to someone out of attendance allowance, counts towards the £3000 gift someone is allowed to make annually, or whether it counts towards the £250 small gifts people can make?  Basically, if an elderly father gives his daughter say a £3000 gift for the year, can he make further payments to her in respect of jobs/work/attendance she does for him throughout the year out of the attendance allowance that he receives?  Any clarity gratefully received.

What limits are you referring to? People are free to give whatever they want to whoever they wish.

Is your mother’s estate likely to be due to pay inheritance tax?

Of course he can in cash, who would know.
A lot of overthinking going on here is it not.
How would anyone know if cash is used, unless he tells everyone.
