Backdated widowed persons allowance

Hi All
any more success  stories on here, i have applied for this end of January and within days received a text message stating they have received my form, i don't need to do anything else.

but not heard anything since ?

I didn't even get told they've received my form. Have you had a response yet. After waiting 9 months, I've been told I've been rejected because I lived with someone new 14 years ago. Are they making a decision from when the law changed in 2017 or not? This whole process has been very painful and cruel. Why have they left me waiting 9 months.
