Don't use a tumble drier get one of those heated airers. Used in your living room (not pretty but hey ho) it heats the room a bit too.Sam2022 said:The cooker is actually only 5 years old but the grill doesn't work, I asked about getting it fixed but it was so expensive I said no. Washing machine is OK but I do need a decent tumble drier, living in a 2nd floor flat means no drying area. Fridge is fine works well but could do with a freezer.0 -
The quote is half correct - that is why your creditor has had to use the County Court bailiff rather than escalate it to High Court.Sam2022 said:So I have been trying to do some research to become more knowledgeable about the whole bailiff thing and warrants etc.
I'm looking at following the advice about not engaging with the bailiff if they return, as it makes sense knowing they can't force there way in. Not that there is much to take if anything.
I was reading an article about debt covered by the CCA 1973, which all my debt is. I saw this which I have cut and paste- Restrictions on Consumer Credit Debts:Critically, for a debt arising from a consumer credit agreement, a writ or warrant of control cannot be used by the High Court or County Court Bailiffs to seize goods.
Am I misunderstanding the meaning of this? As it seems to suggest that the bailiff should not even be trying to recover the money?
Also not being tech savvy I don't know how to get the margin back to the left side!!
As things stand they can still use County Court.0 -
Just a bump to get this on the new page, so hopefully I can get some more understanding👍Sam2022 said:So I have been trying to do some research to become more knowledgeable about the whole bailiff thing and warrants etc.

I cant remember where I read that article and forgot to make a note of it, typical.
I will keep having a look for it. Meanwhile up to now nothing else has happened.
However the CCJ being handled by TM Legal are saying they are going to send a field agent for a reconnection visit unless I pay the debt in full. I'm not worrying over that though, I know they have no power at all and I won't engage. I've got more important things to worry about given my health issues.0 -
