I see EDF are back with a good 1 year fixed deal, currently £10 per month less than the standard variable that I've just switched to.

I was hoping it would drop again with the predicted July drop which is why I went variable but I wonder if it will drop again before July.

Are you sure you've got those rates correct?

Also worth mentioning, switching with uswitch via topcashback gets you £45 cashback.

I'm on the EDF 1year Mar25 and keep and the May25  is very slightly more expensive. If a better EDF 1 year fix comes along then I will certainly switch to that as they waive the exit fee if you switch to another fix with them.

Version you have allows for switching to another EDF fixed rate tariff with no exit fee, I have not seen any mention anywhere that applies to current version this thread refers to.

"if you switch to another fix with them"

That's the price that pops up on my account. Works out £10/month less for me which I was waiting for.

I was on the May 24 tariff but switched within the 39 days onto the variable which saved me £40/month in the hope a lower fix would come out.

Just unsure if another is likely to come out between now and the July cap change but then thinking even if it does drop 8% as currently predicted, this fix won't be far off.

Also thinking I won't get the £45 cashback being an existing customer.

That £10/month saving does sound a bit optimistic. I am also unsure about the claim that they will switch without the £75 penalty.

I am on EDF Essentials 1yr March 2025. My latest bill says, for electric,
"You could save £1.56 a year by switching to EDF Essentials 1Yr Apr25v3, but remember your current tariff has an early exit fee of £75.00 per fuel."
No saving on the gas side. £150 to switch for that peanuts saving seems a very bad idea!

Yeah dunno, just going on that my current variable is £129 but saying the fix will be £119 and fortunately no exit.

Just gambling if it might drop more before July

I switched from the standard/variable to 1yr Mar25 fix, then to the Apr25 fix (exit fee refunded) and then to May25 fix (exit fee refunded again).

Even if it's a £1 saving, I did it to extend my fixed rate from March to May incase prices go up.
