Anyone travelled with EgyptAir recently with large mobile device?
I'm going to Egypt later this year and on the booking information there is a statement about phones, laptops etc. not allowed on the flight back to the UK if the dimensions exceed L:16cm x W:9.3cm x D:1.5cm.
My phone is 16.3cm.
Also states to contact airline but no office in the UK or GOV.UK site, but it is just general information on their.

What exactly does it say where? Looking on their website there is nothing other than about lithium batteries in general (which doesn't state size limits on mobiles/laptops) and explicitly the Galaxy Note 7.
It is an unlikely set of dimensions to include laptops... not sure there are any within those sizes. Certainly have known some travelling with laptops much bigger than that but it's been a couple of years maybe.0 -

That's an old document, with the "popular handsets" listed being those from about ten years ago! No idea if there really ever were any such restrictions on size, but the history of the specified gov.uk page suggests not, and the 'rules' don't seem to be listed anywhere definitive such as airline or government pages....XzavierWalnut said:It's from Saga holidays.1 -
I'd go back to Saga and query if you've been sent the most up to date version given it's nearly a decade old. There were problems around that time after a couple of fires with Samsung Note 7 on a plane (2016, which looks like the date of the document given it says iPhone 7) that resulted in some short term wider ban but got narrowed down quickly.
As mentioned, looking on the airlines own site the only device they ban is the Note 7, the same one that caused fires2
