Justification excuses for increased premium

The advice with insurance is to: Not auto renew. Shop around. Haggle. When I received my the renewal quote that I got from my insurers, Direct Line, for Landlord insurance was £201. This is motor insurance, renwal came through £311, paid £211 last year.

Used topcashback, found policy different company for £241 (I even lowed the excess). Cancelled auto renew with current, sorted, not going to phone current and ask why the increase.
