Estate Agent left current company mid way through setting up my property

    What do you mean by 'setting up your property'? Photos taken? Marketing wording produced? Leaflets produced? For Sale board erected? Website fully or partially prepared
    If the first company has done any of the above (or similar) with your consent, then you are liable as a minimum for their costs so far, and probably for their commission on any subsequent sale.

    So contract is in place, the firm has started incurring costs in selling your property.
    If it was a sole agency contract, then going with another firm could open you up to a can of worms.
    Your references to "the Estate Agent" are confusing/misleading - you are referring to an individual employee of the original firm. It is that firm your contract was with, not the individual.
