I think what you meant to say is that you bought an expensive delicious cake that came with a free flat. Lol.

No wonder you’re surprised when people don’t automatically entertain other people overstepping the mark and dictating what they should and shouldn’t do!BarelySentientAI said:

Really? I don't like the door knobs on the folding bathroom door. And, I think I want to replace them with ones that have knobs on both sides. But, it never even occurred to me that I would ask the previous owners to come back and do it. Similarly for the garden (large) compost bin that I've found is full of compost sealed in heavy plastic sacks. I'm going to dispose of them one by one in the rubbish.BarelySentientAI said:
I had the opposite - I left (obviously) internal door handles but didn't list them on the form, and my buyer insisted that I come and remove them on the day after completion.RHemmings said:I remember reading a newspaper article about experiences when buying houses. One example was someone who bought a house with a fancy spiral staircase. When they received possession of the house, the staircase was gone. And, not listed in the TA10. (Assuming it was a TA10 as this was some time ago.)
I'm pretty sure that my TA10 listed door-handles and the boiler.

Are you trying to make some point other than how awesome a vendor you are that everyone must accept your authority?Millsandovis said:

Not at all. Just matching your unhelpful energy. But amused to see you jumping through hoops for unreasonable people & wanting other people to do the same.BarelySentientAI said:

Yes, visiting a house that I was five minutes away from to undo a few screws is clearly a complete waste of an insignificant amount my time but, as there is no reason just to annoy people for the sake of it, I decided not to be petty.Millsandovis said:

They were FTBs. I think the whole process had stressed them out quite a lot, even though it had actually gone pretty smoothly. Sold on again two quiet years later (I stayed in touch with the neighbours).RHemmings said:

If you're not sure, include it on the form.
It's normally taken to mean stuff that's easily removable - fridges, couches, curtains etc.I have a friend who bought a flat and the seller was desperate so took a low offer. Friend moved in to find that the seller took all the light fittings, switches, wall insulation and wiring, basically anything he could rip out, out of sheer pettiness. Friend was planning to do a pretty major refurb before moving in so it wasn't as disastrous as it could have been.2
