Can anyone help to identify this plant popping up everywhere in my new garden? The house has been empty for a couple of years and the garden neglected for much longer, so it’s a bit of a mess and I’m hoping this at least is something I can leave to get on with it while I tackle the rest of the jungle! Thanks

possible a loosestrife (i have only grown the yellow one so not sure what this one does - if it is that) https://plants.oaklandnursery.com/12130001/Plant/2817/Firecracker_Loosestrife/3

Looks like Lysimachia 'Firecracker' to me. What do others think?Said not to be invasive, but depending on soil, it can get around!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity2

Thanks all, that looks spot on. I’ll leave it alone for the moment, and get on with battling the ground elder, bindweed, and sedge forming an impenetrable barrier between fork and soil everywhere else!2

At least the part of your soil we can see looks good. This is part of ours, 15 years ago. We're still working on it!

Luckily we also have an allotment with lovely, friable, stone-free and (perennial) weed-free beds. Sometimes after battling the garden for a while with little success, we just go there and dig over a bed for a bit just for fun!5

That did make me laugh!

Download PlantNet app from Play store. Upload your picture. Remarkable accuracy. Fantastic app.
