Microsoft Office/ 365

Bought a Samsung S9 tablet from Currys and was told I could download a free version of Microsoft. However, the download only applies to tabs smaller than 10.1 inches and mine is 10.9 " Seems I now need to buy something so that I can use the tablet. What do I need to get and where's the best site as I've seen so many spurious or other sites. Would 1 of the free programs be ok? Any advice would be great.

What's the screen size got to do with it?

You can use Office Online:

Can only use it on screens smaller than 10.1".

You need a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription if you want local installs of the apps; with the subscription you can install the Office suite on up to 5 devices including the larger Android tablets.
