Our aerial is in the loft
Enough said. A loft often has several sources of interference. It is important that your aerial is installed away from anything that may cause interference. Maybe check if your aerial has an integrated balun or maybe is of log periodic design, they seem to be the best.

I know my sister had a hella lot of trouble with her loft aerial, pixelation, sound chirps and sometimes even drop outs, replaced it for an outside one and all the problems disappeared.

I suggest like some others have said, might be prudent to get an expert in to check your aerial alignment and interference.
