How does AIP work after death
Comments
-
That is what DWP said to my husband after his mother’s death. They had to check it. They kept asking for more and more information. Eventually there was nothing to pay, because of the indefinite AIP. So it does still apply after death, if that is your question. Many people find they get these letters because figures on the Probate form include the value of a property, and DWP then seem to think the deceased had more money than they did, and start checking. Needlessly in many cases. It can be scary, frustrating, annoying, and totally unnecessary.1
