Afternoon all, I got distracted with reading the newspapers online.
The fermentation workshop yesterday was really interesting. The ‘tutor’ brought a wide variety of ingredients and huge knowledge to the session. Apart from the usual red / white cabbage, onions and carrots there was herbs, spices, foraged leaves etc. I stuck with red cabbage with red onions though others took an assortment of things to add. The kneading of my food, along with salt, was highly enjoyable. Twenty minutes with my hands in a bowl of red cabbage crushing and squeezing it was so cathartic.
The leader had brought along samples of various ferment made about a year ago. My favourite was the wild garlic pesto, so delicious. We also had a chocolate cheesecake pudding made with kefir cheese and a small glass of meadowsweet sparkling ‘wine’. And the drive there was so beautiful too. Everything was good, now I have to wait at least three weeks for my stuff to ferment properly.
Today is much less productive. I fully intend to go out but not just yet! I’ve spoken to my gardener so she’s coming at some point next week, she’ll bring her big mower to cut back the jungle which is my back grass.
@Chrisca and @TA and @WL– enjoy your sports.
@Scarlet – you made me look at my windows and then quickly look away again. 😊
@Izzy – have a lovely family lunch.
@Camelot – I hope that your little one is feeling better today.
@Allie – did you get some catch up sleep and chase away that headache?
@NRA – hope that you had a good time in London.
@Ruby – now you have me thinking about how long ago it’s been since I last had beef.
@Bella – you’ve a busy day ahead.

Hello all, I had my scan yesterday and was in and out before my appointment time as the hospital was deserted. Afterwards we went to the hospital restaurant and had a meal, lamb hotpot for me and a cheese pasty and chips for Mr Fix It, very good quality and value for money too.
Today the sun is out but I'm not feeling great so will have a chill day as I get to go for another scan tomorrow. This is a nuclear one so I have to be there for noon and then back again in 3/4 hrs, we may have another meal in the restaurant again to pass some of the time.
Bella when you mentioned nik naks my mind thought of the crisps !
TA how annoying about the text from the opticians.
Hope everyone can have a good Sunday, hugs to anyone in need. Take care all

Wet and cold here too! I am hoping to sow some squash seeds in the greenhouse today, just need to muster the energy to traipse down the garden.
Other exciting plans for the day are ironing work clothes, and sorting out clothes for a weekend away as I'm on DIL2B's hen next weekend. Has anyone been to Valetta?
Hope you have good news from the scan @nannywindow x
Interesting workshop @Gers - love the sound of the wine!
Feel better soon @AlwaysAllie x
Take care all

Morning all, not actually raining here but very grey and chilly. We are having roast chicken later. I agree RR we have Yorkshires whatever roast we're havingDS2 & DGC should be flying off in a couple of hours for their weeks hol in the sun. He rang in a panic shortly after we left him after DGS match yesterday - he'd lost his bank card & it said online banking was down on his phone so I told him the phone no. on the back and he rang and cancelled it. Obvs too late for his hol for the new one to come but he had some cash to exchange for currency and he has his Ccard. It's all inclusive where they are staying so hopefully he shouldn't need to spend too much anyway.Both of the menfolk are out atm doing car things. Once DH is back I might give DB1 a ring to see if they're in. Otherwise a quiet day. Hope your headache goes AA.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8

Thanks everyone, you're so kind.
Feel much better now - headache almost gone despite an hour clattering around in a neighbours cobwebby shed - the result is I have a huge pile of wood pieces for my crafts (plus a load of other stuff) that he'll pop in his trailer and deliver in the week! Just have to find space for it!!!
A small sewing repair to be done then an afternoon of taking photos of items for my craft shop - it's not my favourite part of the job but very necessary!
Take care
