Yeah i think the meatballs suggestion will be best. How would i cook them??
I'm thinking make the balls with mince, herbs, breadcrumbs and an egg with a bit of cheese stuffes in the middle and then what fry them off?? Add the passata perhaps some garlic and herbs whack them in the oven. Cook a bit of pasta, mix it all together and perhaps a bit more cheese melted over the top of it all?? How does that sound??0 -
Will probably follow it with apple turnovers as i have some cooking apples, sultanas, cinnamen and puff pastry and there's some icecream in the freezer.
Think i might actually be beginning to enjoy cooking for the first time in my life!!0 -
Also do you think i could freeze the meatballs when they are made?? the mince has already been frozen but its a 900g pack was going to make some pasty things but the meatballs would be a quick and easy meal again too, could probably manage those as well out of that much.0

Metaballs sounds good! My friend taught me a recipe that just uses mince, oats, fresh crushed garlic & black pepper, and the meatballs are out of this world - best I've ever eaten. You don't even need any egg.0

Oooooh could you share the amounts i need to use and how you cook them if you don't mind?? I'd be really grateful!0

i just mix up the mince with whatever herbs i fancy, bread crumbs and depending on consistency an egg to bind it (not essential just depends on the meat)
once you've cooked the meatballs you could freeze them, tho i tend to make double and have half one night with pasta and the next night with mash or in buns with fried onionsNonny mouse and Proud!!
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience!!

Sounds great to me! I love the idea of stuffing the meatballs with cheese, I'd never have thought of that!0 -
Meatballs made and ready to go. Got 17 largish ones out of the mince so pleanty for another meal. Just having a quick drink before i walk the dogs then i'll start putting my masterpiece together so its on the table for when DH gets home. Dough finishing off in BM ready to make breadrolls too and filling for the apple turnovers is ready to go. I don't do cooking new things lol!0

Good Morning all,
This may be a really silly idea so feel free to shot me down in flames (nicely though LOL) but with so many inventive cooks on here and the daily posting of what you are having for dinner tonight I was wondering if any would be up for listing the ingredients we have to use and suggestions of what to do with them?0
