Claiming on our insurance

Hi all,
We have cancelled our holiday to Greece because one of our dogs has been diagnosed with cancer and we don't know how long she has left.
is there any chance we could claim back the coat of the holiday with our insurance or any other way please.
I realise this will probably be a long shot but I'm willing to ask the question

I suspect that the insurance only covers close (human) relatives - is there anything in the small print about animals?1

Highly unlikely but check directly with the travel insurance company.
