Business Investment for a Start Up

Im looking at starting a business up, but would like some investors in with me where. other than crowdfunding is there anywhere i could meet such people of sites ?

There are plenty of sites to look for angel investors etc but 99% of proposals get nothing... 

How much capital are you looking for -v- how much are you putting up?

Are you wanting an investor or a business partner? 

Most small business raise funds from friends, family, remortgaging etc... most also fail.
