Bought camera on finance via a shop over 4 weeks ago, but not received the camera

Hi, first time on the forum and sorry for the long title.

I just want to know my rights here, as I don't know what to do and I don't want to be fobbed off every week. 

I bought a camera from a London camera shop that looks like it is reputable, and also on the Nikon site as a trusted seller.

So I contacted the shop and was advised that camera is currently out of stock but they get stock quickly.  So thinking it will be a week or two I decided to go for it as the reviews I read about the shop were good.  An exclusive Nikon seller!

So I got the finance sorted via the the shop and now it's been 4 weeks and I still don't have the item.  

I email in to ask what's happening, but it takes nearly a week for a reply and saying "we still trying to get stock from Nikon"... They never keep me up to date I need to chase.

What are my rights here?
How long do I need to wait before I can cancel? 
What happens to the finance if I cancel? 
Will I be out if money for nothing?

If they don't delivery within 30 days then you can cancel the order and not be out of pocket.  I don't think the finance agreement can start until the good are provided, so you shouldn't need to do anything extra with that.  Though when you do cancel, I suggest confirming that the finance agreement is cancelled too.

Which camera is it and, just out of curiosity, what price have they charged?

they should not start the finance until you receive the goods but if they do then contact the finance company direct rather than the shop
