Outlook New - Windows 11

Just commissioning my new PC with Windows 11 - previously done same for laptop to prove all my software will work under W11, which it does.  I didn't use Outlook on lappy.  On the new PC I purchased the latest version of Office (2021) which included Outlook as I have used it on all my previous machines. I fired up Outlook (new) and completed all the configuration data and it seemed to pull all my e-mails from my e-mail provider BUT the calendar and contacts were missing!  I can deal with the contacts by importing a .csv file when I have exported it from old PC and corrected it to the correct version.  Could not figure out how to import the calendar and then I discovered the calendar app and that seemed to pull in all my events.  A day after using the calendar app, I got a message telling me that there was Outlook - NEW (I actually thought I was using that) and calendar would be switched to that so that I could see my mail and calendar and people all in one place - PERFECT - but it doesn't work.  I switched to new outlook using the toggle and it seemed to work at first as there is an e-mail and calendar icon on the taskbar.  When I click on the e-mail icon, it opens Outlook and clicking on the e-mail tab works but clicking on the calendar tab just produces an empty calendar and I cannot figure out how to import or sync MY data.  The calendar icon is still on the taskbar and that contains all my events!
Anybody come across Outlook NEW and got it to work please?

Which service are you using for email/calendar/contacts? I'm assuming Google.

I am using BT as my email provider just as I have for years. Microsoft Outlook (the program) has been my go to email client for even more years and has held my email, calendar and contacts.

After two weeks I am two steps forward and one back!  I have managed to fire up Outlook 2021 Classic, which is what Microsoft calls the old one, and can see, receive and send emails. I have also sucked in Calendar.  I was struggling with contacts- couldn't export as a Vcard file from my old machine so could not import. I had all my contacts in an Excel spreadsheet as a .csv file so used that to copy and paste my 157 contacts! Aha I thought, it is all there, I will switch to NEW but whilst emails and contacts are there, the Calendar is still empty. I have,  I think, raised a Support Ticket with Microsoft but apart from them acknowledging the fact, no support or suggestions have been forthcoming. It doesn’t force conversion until December this year, so hopefully someone will gave found a fix by then!
ETA Just after I wrote this, I received an e-mail from Microsoft Support asking how they had done and would I mind filling in a short survey?  Mind, I would relish it.  I gave them both barrels!
