During the conveyancing of the sale of my property I discover that an application to the title deeds was placed in my property 5 months ago by an ex partner . I was not informed of this and had resulted in the sale falling through . It’s proving difficult to get moved , is there any help out there

Can you explain what you mean by “an application to the title deeds” please?kaywoodcelebrant said:During the conveyancing of the sale of my property I discover that an application to the title deeds was placed in my property 5 months ago by an ex partner . If you do then notification is normally issued to the owner at the contact address on the register. If you use our Contact form you can check further with us and confirm what happened and how to apply to now cancel it as appropriate

My understanding is it’s an application via a UN1 form . My purchasers are distraught as they have paid conveyancing fees and about to lose the mortgage offer . Can the house not be sold with this still on it ?0

this was. placed in my house in November 2023
I was never informed and found out in Feb of this year via my purchasers solicitor0 -
For others, the lesson here is to sign up to the free Land Registry Alert:Also to make sure your contact details are up to date on your Title register.

It would be a bit pointless if you could - presumably its very purpose is to stop you selling until you've sorted it out with your ex? Is your solicitor not providing any advice?kaywoodcelebrant said:Can the house not be sold with this still on it ?0 -
I’m trying to sort with land registry , it’s not easy
but yes the Property alert is imperative for all property owners , wish I had heard about this earlier0 -
If it’s a UN1 then we would have written to you at the time and using the contact address(es) on the register following your name.kaywoodcelebrant said:My understanding is it’s an application via a UN1 form . But the key is whether the interest it protects still exists. If it does and the beneficiary objects to its removal then you still have an issue that needs to be resolved with the beneficiary.I assume that’s perhaps what you’ve been trying to do since February?“Official Company Representative
