Hi, I thought the point of using Cashback sites was so that you could earn and receive Cashback on small or big purchases.

While this is true to a degree. I have found that some and it not all limit the amount of Cashback in total that you can receive in their T&Cs.

For example I have purchased two holidays from Tui Cashback scheme, and on both occasions they have paid out 10% in Cashback. But the Cashback company have capped my monthly payouts to no more than £250. On one occasion, I earned around £600 Cashback but was only given £250 back out of that.

I have complained to the Cashback company, but they said that this was their policy. This sucks, and then I can't earn any more Cashback until the following month once my limit is reset back to 0.

Should I complain to TUI, and any other company I purchase from that the full amount of Cashback is being restricted and potentially pocketed by the Cashback company?

Thank

I’m afraid to say that the general rule with cashback sites is ‘it’s nice to have, but don’t count your chickens until they’re hatched’ - their terms can be very, very restrictive. It’s not uncommon for them to cap monthly pay outs, and if it’s in their terms, then I don’t think there’s much you can do.

My experience with cashback sites has always been that if I was going to do the deal anyway, there’s nothing to lose to go through the cashback site but I would never have it away my opinion to choose one business or another.

You can maybe ask TUI to cancel one holiday and rebook the next month instead? But I guess it’s the cancellation fees and stress vs the cashback.

If it's the cashback site I think it is then it's very open during sign up that there is a £250 limit

It's not their problem though, is it?

Which cashback company is involved here?  Is it their policy and is that policy term available to you? If so, you don't have any grounds for complaint.

Yeah I know its a nice to had but it still sucks when they start capping you for spending lots through them.

It's in their T&Cs but it doesn't make it right and then I start to wonder how much TUI actually paid them and if so what they kept. I know on one holiday the cashback was £590. The problem is that I can't split the trip over two months if you see what I mean. It has to be done on one transaction.

It absolutely does make it right, and that's what this forum section is about - your rights.  Whether you like the policy or not is irrelevant, you're not obliged to use the site.

You can use more than one cashback site to spread your balance...not sure I see the complaint here....
