Hi all,
just perusing Dollar's site for car hire in LA next summer and wondered if any of you had hired any of the cars on offer and can advise...?
There will be 4 of us going (2 adults and 2 teens - so pretty much 4 adults) and we want a decent amount of comfort as well as good luggage space. while we try and keep down what we take, inevitably we buy stuff over there so have to get extra back to the airport.
we are looking at the Chrysler Pacifica and the Dodge Caravan. This year we hired the Chrysler 300, but felt that the rear view for the girls was a little restricted, and boot space wasn't enormous given the size of the car.
any info greatly appreciated. Thanks

Whenever we have been to US 4 adults we have hired a Dodge Caravan or similar purely for the luggage space. It is also really nice to have loads of space without every time you get in the car it being a mission to get all of your luggage and bags in!0

I dont agree, i hired the 300 this year and there was ample space, in fact it was larger inside than any other car i had ever driven of the same category.
If you are looking for larger can i suggest a jeep? Whilst i haven't driven one myself i do know they are supposed to be huge inside.0 -
id prob go with the caravan size vehicle, we just had a dodge magnum which is a big estate and we filled it with 2 peoples luggage easily0

Agree with you about the 300 boot space, we had one this year...enormous inside but useless boot.
I would maybe go with the pacifica or a people carrier0 -
agree with the Dodge Caravan or Grand Caravan, have used these for the last 4 or 5 trips when there have been 4 of us (3 adults and 1 child), plenty of room for every thing. In the past have had chrysler neon compact size(2 adults and 1 child) hopeless, boot was tiny, dodge stratus intermediate size(3 adults) not too bad, dodge intrepid full size(2 adults) fine, an oldsmobile sedan full size (2 adults) fine.0

we had a grand voyager for 4 adults. it was supposed to be the basic one but they asked if we wanted to upgrade and when we said no they gave it to us anyway. loads of room and a dvd player.it had 7 seats and plenty space for cases when we arrived [about 6] and coming back we just put the extras on the back seat that we weren't using anyway.0

Maybe it depends on the Jeep - I assume they come in different sizes. I was given one in place of an intermediate car and the luggage space was pitiful - barely room for two cases.0
