Hi wife has 1053 10pence shares in Llyods bank which were given to her by her aunt. We cannot figure out how much these shares are worth and if it would be worth selling to pay off some of our mortgage?

If they're the Lloyds Banking Group shares that are currently listed, they're worth 51.5p each at the time of posting:

In what form does she hold them, i.e. as a certificate (if so, when was it issued) or via a broker (if so, who)?1 -
THey're worth about 50 pence each. https://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/l/lloyds-banking-group-plc-ordinary-10p1

She has them on 3 separate certificate with a different number of shares on each0

so at present her shares would be worth around £5370

Yes, but will have costs associated with selling them - X-O is normally recommended as a cheap broker to use for selling certificated shares:Ranger2024 said:so at present her shares would be worth around £537

Are the share certificates in your wife's name or still in that of the aunt?
If it's the second then there will be associated costs with transferring into her name.0 -
Might be cheaper to sell by converting to digital shares.
I converted my certificated shares to digital to Iweb as equiniti charged more and it's free converting. Now with IWeb who charge £5 to sell.
Mine are IDS PLC. royal mail IPO.
