Rib injury will travel insurance cover cancellation?

I had an accident a few days ago which resulted in a very painful rib injury. My doctor didn't send me to a&e as he said they don't do anything for rib injuries, and that the rib was likely to be bruised or some severe soft tissue injury has been caused. Six days later it's no better and I'm in great pain and limited in movement.
I'm due to fly long haul in five days. Will my annual travel insurance cover me for cancellation for such an injury that's not been seen by a hospital doctor?

What was the accident? Your fault? Was it in a shop or workplace where it was recorded in the accident book?0 -
You may be better off just contacting them to ask what evidence they will need. Which gives you time to try and sort something out if necessary, given how hard it can be to get a GP appointment nowadays.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Have you told the travel insurance company aboutt he accident and resulting injury? You are normally reuired to advise them of any changes to the information given in your application., which probaby asked about any visits to your GP in the lastXyears0 often 2 or 5.

If you are advised by the GP or A&E that you are not fit to travel then the insurer should pay out. If medical opinion is that you are fit to fly they won't. You do need to inform your insurer of the situation.

My GP has confirmed that the insurer is unlikely to cover this. I'm safe to fly, it's just that I'm in a lot of pain (if you've had rib injuries you'll know!).
But thanks for the responses. I'm hoping another few days will see a bit of improvement, and the GP is helping with pain advice etc. So fingers crossed.1
