Advice required required a new health problem

Options
Hi, I am in a bit of a quandary here
To explain, I booked a holiday last year to Lanzarote and health wise everything was ok when I booked
However in the last month I have discovered after I had an x-ray that I have osteoarthritis in my hips and lower back.
Now I've phoned my holiday insurance (nationwide)to tell them about this and they have logged that in their records and she said that I was covered as I booked the holiday before I found out about my osteoarthritis and that when I renew my insurance in June that this new health condition would be logged into my renewal and probably a higher premium to pay.
But my worry now is, I am going to pay for the balance off this holiday on Monday, so I am better to phone the insurance back up to tell them this or just leave it till June when I am due to renew the policy.
Sorry, for such a long past, but I need peace of mind before spending over £2000 pound on this holiday and then find out that if I have to cancel I won't get my money back as I didn't tell them that I still had to pay the balance off on Monday.
Please Help help help 🙏🤞

I don’t think you need to be panicking at all unless you’re waiting for a date for treatment which might impact on your holiday. Are you envisaging that you might need to cancel your holiday - insurers do want to know if you are waiting for anything else to happen.

Otherwise an osteoarthritis diagnosis is pretty normal. Insurers tend to get worried when you’re waiting for tests and you don’t have the formal label. You may have a higher premium on renewal because of it. Or if your insurer decides they don’t want to renew your cover for any reason that’s not the same as a cancellation so you just shop around and go elsewhere.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I am waiting for an appointment at the multi-skeletal department to determine what is the best course of treatment that will be best, whether that is physio or worst case scenario a hip replacement.
So do you think that I should phone my insurer and let the know everything that I know up till now just to keep myself right or just leave it till the renewal is due in June?

As I said I'm a little bit concerned about the fact that I am due to pay the outstanding balance on Monday and then find out that I can't go on holiday and the insurance then turns round and says you should have told us that you hadn't yet paid for my holiday.

You should definitely tell them you are waiting for an appointment to deterion what treatment you need, if you have not done so.

If ntey tell you it is okay to continue the ibsurance ask them to confirm that inan email, so you have proof , if needed.
