Complete technophobe here!
Someone has bought me an MP3 player for when Im out walking the dog. Last time I had one was about 20 years ago when I could put a CD into my laptop and copy it onto my MP3 player.
Ive been having a search and it seems there are lots of sites offering free music downloads but the trouble I have is that most sat you have you download something first in order to then download the music you want and Im worried about dodgy sites and downloading something I shouldnt.
Can anyone suggest the easiest way to just put some songs of choice onto my MP3mplayer please.
Thank you.

You can pop a CD in and copy it if your computer has a disc drive. If you want to download music then Amazon offers MP3 downloads

Interesting. I didn't know such a thing existed.
Laptops with cd drive these days cost a fortune.
Swingaloo you can download podcasts from BBC Sounds also, and I got books on cds bought at charity shops - so not just music.
Have you got the music from your old laptop saved to a usb/memory stick or card?I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

OP, I have a plug in CD drive, they are dead cheap and work like they did 20 years ago. Is your MP3 player wifi enabled and does it allow downloading of apps? If you have Amazon Prime, you can access Amazon music for free - you can't choose your individual songs, but can choose genre. If you pay for full Amazon music you can choose your songs.0
