Indemnity for lost share cert worth over 100k.

Hi, we have had probate granted on my uncles estate and part of that are shares held worth in excess of 140k.
We cannot find the share certificate and my solicitor is being asked to obtain an indemnity with a countersignature.
Due to the large value of shares we are finding this difficult, has anyone had this issue and if so who was able to offer the countersignature?
Regards

I would assume there is insurance out there somewhere to cover this type of problem.

The company registrars normally offer this service as part of the certificate replacement. They'll place the business with a bank or an insurer.
Alternatively google should find you some options. Fee is likely to start at a minimum of 1% of the holding's worth.0 -
Yes, it's a while since I've had to do this, but I think it was always just dealt with inhouse by the registrars.
Hasn't your solicitor encountered this before? Or can find somebody who has?0
