Incorrect Energy account movement
Looking for some advice and Direction here, if possible.
I live in a Flat – Flat A to be precise.
Last Wednesday I received an email around 8:30pm from my
energy supplier – Octopus – “Sorry You’re Leaving”.
I am NOT moving my energy account.
I very swiftly replied to this as the email told me to,
saying I wasn’t leaving.
They cancelled the move, all good I thought.
Last night same again, same email, same action from myself.
I am not aware of any neighbors in my building who are
moving supplier.
I have asked most by now.
These emails arrive at around the same time of day, and only
give till midnight to respond.Octopus Customer service is only open 9-5 Mon-Fri, so I cant
phone till the morning which is technically to late.
I respond to the email but only by luck if I notice it in
time.
How do I stop this being a recurring theme?
Can I find out who is trying to move my supply?

Try asking your landlord for info. Some Property Management Companies (Arun Estates for example) seem to have a habit of transfering property let energy supplies to Ovo^^, though I see no reason for this to happen mid tenancy. Is your tenancy agreement coming up for renewal? There may be useful info in the small print of your tenancy contract.Octopus will only be responding to an external request from another supplier. This is most likely to be though your Landlord's Letting Agents. As I understand it, you are under no compulsion to accept this, but my knowledge is limited to just the two similar cases I'm personally aware of (hence calling out Arun Estates and Ovo above). It's worrying and annoying. I hope you sort it out.^^I guess it's about Ovo paying a "commission" fee to Arun for new business. Underhand and grubby practice from both parties in my view, but a private landlord is likely blameless and innocent in this matter.(edits were for spelling and grammar)
