What you are suggesting I think is that you get paid for caring for yourself. If you were able to care for yourself you wouldn't need AA so that's a no on this one.
But someone else could get CA for helping you. Doesn't need to be a relative, might be a neighbour but they will have to be complying with all the bits needed for being considered your carer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Or are you saying can you claim carers to look after your husband?Life in the slow lane0

You can't claim carers allowance for looking after yourself. Does your husband claim either AA or any other disability benefits? If so what award does he have exactly and does anyone else live with you?0

Sorry i wasnt really clear I am on AA and my husband is on Higher DLA We have issues of being able to care for ourselves My daughter has her own home is willing and able to help with our needs, can she claim CA. if she meets the criteria Beatrice0

Are you claiming Pension Credit? If not please check entitlement to that because if no other adults are living with you then you'll be entitled to the couples Severe disability Premium. If your daughter claims Carers allowance for looking after either of you then you will only be entitled to single SDP.
Or if you're already claiming Pension Credit that includes the SDP your daughter claim CA for looking after one of you will mean you'll only be entitled to single SDP.0 -
