However this assumes they told you and you went on to make the transaction. It initially sounded like you had entered your card details against a Euro price and its only when it hit your account that you saw it had been charged in GBP. If this is the case and you can evidence it then you potentially do have a chargeback for wrong currency (not poor FX) but @born_again will be better placed to confirm - its certainly one of the dispute reason codes.

OP would need receipt confirming how transaction was made. As it should confirm where exchange is made.

Sadly many people get caught out as they are agreeing to what the retailer enters when they enter pin or tap card.

    To the poster above.
Your route to Visa Int is via your card provider, as VI are not a customer facing company. As above most issues are because payment is agreed, but is never checked just how it is being transacted. Which neither bank or VI are at fault for. As error is on input by retailer & approved by customer (not aware sometimes). Not helped in many cases as person at retailer end, entering details into terminal, has no idea on the effect on customer.

The OP says "screen shot" so presumably this is an online transaction rather than Chip & Pin. Presumably if they have the screenshot showing the final payment screen was still in Euro but then then emailed receipt is in GBP this would be sufficient @born_again?

Could be. Would need to see what CC provider says.

But often retailer will show in local currency & then debit in customer local currency. Will depend on their T/C

A lot will depend on the actual difference. As while Visa rate may show a difference, you also have to factor in card providers charge.
