Hey Guys,

Question regarding plan 2 for SLC:

The slc website says that if you have two different jobs then the loan is repaid for each one separately. So If the threshold is 30k and you have two jobs earning 20k each, you wouldn't need to repay anything as they are both under the threshold.

My question is: would this also work if the two salaries come from the same employer under two different payslips / job positions?

No. If both jobs are with the same employer then the incomes are aggregated.

"For National Insurance there is a separate limit for each job. The exception to this is if your employers are connected to each other, for example you work at a supermarket and a petrol station but they are both owned by the same company. In this case you would be treated as having one employer when calculating your NIC."

Student loans follow National Insurance rules.
